ERP UK believes it is vitally important to raise awareness of WEEE, batteries and packaging recycling – to change behaviour and divert more waste from landfill
ERP develops marketing and awareness-raising campaigns for local authorities, schools, businesses and other organisations to promote recycling. Please see examples of some of the initiatives below. And please see our news and events page for more details on previous and upcoming events.
Since 2010, ERP UK has organised e-waste recycling events in Aberdeen, Cambridge, Chelmsford, Hertford, Milton Keynes, Northampton, Norwich, Spelthorne and Swindon, collecting almost 250 tonnes of e-waste for recycling.
Make Noise is a unique partnership between ERP and Heavenly Recordings. The aim of Make Noise is to engage with young people – to let them know that recycling is about turning old, unwanted and sometimes broken goods into something new, more powerful and ultimately more useful. Make Noise also shows that recycling electronics can be as fun as using them.
The Junk Kouture Recycled Fashion Competition promotes young design and communicates the reuse and recycling message in a creative and eye-catching way. Junk Kouture is a national competition for secondary school students in Ireland and Northern Ireland which challenges young people to create high-end fashion from everyday rubbish.
Free Electronic Take Back from Schools, Colleges and Universities
As part of our commitment to increasing recycling rates and promoting electronic waste recycling, ERP UK is able to offer free e-waste collections from schools, colleges and universities.
Schools Recycling Competitions
ERP UK funds schools recycling competitions, with prizes for the schools that recycle the most waste. A batteries recycling scheme with Caerphilly County Borough Council is now in its second year and going from strength to strength.
Sponsoring Local Events
To raise the profile of WEEE and batteries recycling, ERP UK believes it is vitally important to engage with the public at a local level. This is why ERP UK sponsors local events such as the Hertford Charity Run, the Rutland Show and the Environmental Youth Speak Competition in Northern Ireland.
ERP UK offers our local authority partners and their partner organisations the following mascots for promoting WEEE and batteries recycling.
